Body Composition Analysis
The Body Composition Analyser provides in detailed information regarding the distribution of the water throughout the body to give an overall indicator of the health of a body. It details how many kilos of lean mass and fat are in each area of the body to categories a persons body type into categories including : underweight, fit, muscular overweight and obese. The information includes: overall weight, skeletal muscle mass, body fat mass, body mass index, and percentage of fat. This information is then used to graph the composition of the body. It provides calculated scores of the Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) which indicates the minimum energy required to sustain vital functions while at rest. The results can be used to guide everyday nutrition intake.
How does it work?
The Body Composition Analyser uses the bioelectrical Impedence analysis (BIA) method to measure body water. It does this by applying a small alternating current to the body which changes depending on the level of water in the body.
The machine receives signals back and this indicates the composition of the the body and its components including body water, proteins, minerals and fats.
By tracking the status of the body, the analyser provides a scientific basis for losing or gaining body fat or muscle mass. With regular analysis a persons health can be monitored closely.
